Henderson leaving WWL-TV next month, though he will continue as play-by-play voice of the Saints.

He is the best in the business. When I was starting in sportscasting and was writing script, sometimes I would be undecided on whether I liked what I had written. My litmus test was to imagine Jim Henderson reading it. If I couldn't hear those words in his voice, I re-wrote.

I know I might get roasted for this but his play by play at Saints games/bowl games makes me cringe like nails on a chalkboard. It is just his voice not his ability in calling a game.

I love Jim Henderson. Grew up listening to him from a young age. His voice is almost comforting to me. Kinda like Al Michaels. It's just familiarity, I guess.
