My standard gameday act is to watch the game on mute and in sync with Hawthorne on internet radio. I love the pure emotion of listening to LSU homers describe the game.

And I respect Hawthorne's 25 years - he's been a great follow on to John Ferguson (sp?).

But...(you knew it was coming )

I'm considering listening to the TV commentators.

Jim gets a TON of stuff wrong and is CONSTANTLY being bailed out Jordy and Doug. He's particularly poor at identifying players.

I don't think it matters at all if you're just listening to the radio broadcast. But it's frustrating after awhile when you're watching the game on TV as well.

A couple of errors wouldn't mar the experience. But Jim makes two or three glaring errors every series.

Just an observation. Gustav has me in a bitchy mood...

Don't be too hard on him...first game of the season and a number of new guys seeing their first playing time. It's not that difficult to have the wrong name pop out of your mouth when guys start flying around.

BTW, I still have never heard any of Hawthorne's call of the BCSNC. Any idea where I can hear that?

How do you do that? I always want to, but my TV is always a few seconds ahead of the radio broadcast, making it impossible. Is it different on an internet radio broadcast?

actually, and i know i am gonna get slammed for this, jim has irritated the crap out of me with his calling baseball games for a while now.

there are times i dont know what the hell happened on a play, because i am not sure hawthorne knows either. i know, i know, hes the voice of the tigers. but he can make listening to games quite frustrating.

i know ive mentioned this before. im just beating a dead horse to death.

If you have a DVR, you can pause it for a second or two to try to sync it.

That's how I do it. Sometimes have to resync after halftime.

There is also a device you can pick up but not sure where? radio shak maybe? You run either the radio or the TV throuh it and it will sync. You have to wait until like a penalty where the ref is talking (something to do with real time) So I've heard anyway.
