I always like listening to radio because here it's five seconds before TV. That way I can see if what Hawthorne calls is anywhere near what actually happens.
My Dad said Hawthorne was great at calling basketball because he said whether a shot was good or not before it went in the basket. He didn't realize there was a delay between radio and TV
I quit watching with about 10 minutes to play. Some streak of masochismadee listen to the rest of the game on the radio. Patrick Wright is very good. I would have had no problem if he had gotten the Voice of the Tigers job. But Chris Blair is better from the videos I've seen.
I know this is dumb, but I really love Hawthorne's voice. He could read someone's tax return and it would be soothing.
I've always been a fan of Nessler, my favorite was the Franklin guy and whoever he used to be teamed with on ESPN, they always seemed to be fans of our Tigers
If Hawthorne read your tax return they'd send you up longer than they did Capone. 'It's a a deduction, no wait ...I think it was itemized.... Doug, he 's going to do 30 years... My oh my!!!' Lmao.
