Most of the TV announcers suck. They don't know the rosters, they don;t know the team history, they don't know much and some are just very lame chatters. Whenever I watch a TV game at home, I listen to the radio call, mostly because of Doug Moreau. His knowledge and quick analysis of LSU football is extremely good. Yes there is a delay, anywhere from 15 to 45 seconds. I own a device that lets me delay the radio signal to sync with the TV. Everybody loves it.
Sometimes I'll watch the game with the sound muted. With the graphics and replays I don't need someone telling me what I just saw.
I can only do that with a game I don't care anything about. I couldn't watch an LSU game with no sound.
I don't. I actually enjoy listening to Verne & Gary. And when a game is on ESPN, they normally bring their A team to the game.
Verne and Gary aren't too bad. I listen them when I watch the replay on the DVR. But some of those third-team SEC network guys are just lousy.
Danielson has some knowledge- The Fat guy with Dementia, he gets a little too "happy" when Bama does something good.
