I think the NBA is a little more fun to watch when the Knicks are relevant, kind of like the Raiders and the NFL. I didn't like Carmelo in Denver. Sure, he can score, but what else? Not a damn thing. If he hasn't transformed his game by now, he probably won't.

    Notable players for the Knicks:

Amare Stoudemire, Carmelo Anthony, Jeremy Lin, JR Smith,Marcus Camby, Tyson Chandler, Baron Davis,Jason Kidd, Mike Bibby, Landry Fields

Lots of PG. I think Lin is a gone pecan. That is a good looking line up. They should contend in the East.

No way Lin is gone. His marketing power is insane. He is wildly overrated as a player and wildly underrated as a marketing phenom. People love him irrationally like tebow. He is money in the bank jerseys and tickets and tv ratings.

Which is exactly why Houston is throwing $$$ at him. They have a HUGE Asian following that dates back before Yao Ming. The Knicks have until a certain time to match their offer.

    Bibby, Lin, Kidd, Baron Davis

Somebody's gone....who do you think it is?

No idea but it isn't Lin. The Knicks have plenty of money for Lin who will pay them back easy. The Knicks will match the offer.

Also I was right to mock the enthusiasm of istlts who was calling Lin Chris paul

I would guess Baron Davis is probably gone after that bad knee injury and the fact that he used to rely on athleticism. Maybe keep Bibby on the roster but not in the rotation unless Lin (possibly brittle?) or the aging Kidd get injured.

Yeah, Lin brings in huge revenue off the court. I'd love for the Rockets to get him just to have a little excitement but don't think there's any chance the Knicks won't match.

I think there is a rational love of Lin. He's the underdog, somehow got the Knicks on a roll when they were without their "stars", put up some big numbers, and seems likeable. Sure, he had the turnover problem but he was playing with a different starting lineup each night as (basically) a rookie. They were asking him to create. Give him an offseason and preseason with a stable group of players and I think he can be good enough to minimize turnovers (although not score as much).

Oh yeah, I forgot about Baron Davis' knee injury in the playoffs. That one is probably his career. He may retire after that one.

Yep, unless they need 3 PG's for some reason, or maybe just develop Lin into a shooter.
