Jeremy Lin gives Knicks hope for being a contending playoff team

    Kid is unreal.

    He's like Chris Paul and Manu Ginobli fused into one.

    Will be really interested to see how well he can run this offense with Stoudemire inside and Melo outside.

    Knicks finally appear to have that missing piece to get them over the top.

    And he attended Harvard. Kid is smart.

    He's 6'3" 200 lbs and he plays even bigger than that.

    Mike D'Antoni is peeing his pants. He finally found his true point guard, perfect for the offense he is trying to execute.

    D'Antoni pretty much put the team on his back and it has paid off. Lin is really that good and has been this good on every level. Has great body control and tempo when driving to the hoop, has a decent jumper and is always looking for teammates. He's murdering everyone off the pick and roll like Nash used to. The Knicks need some other players to step up though because he won't be able to do this every night as entertaining as it has been.

    He'll have lethal scorers coming back with Stoudemire and Melo as early as this coming week.

    They will be shooting a lot of shots point blank range (Stoudemire) or wide open jumpers (Melo).

    This team should be the highest scoring team in the NBA and really fun to watch.

    And the role players are more than sufficient on this team (Shumpert, Jeffries, Walker).

    I love Chandler in the middle.

    The question ultimately becomes playing defense, the knock on all D'Antoni teams.

    I don't know... with all those offensive black holes coming back, the offense will not be in the hands of Lin like it should be. Imagine the Phoenix Suns trying to run the offense through someone outside of Nash...it just won't work. The Knicks would be sick if they kept the players the traded for Melo.

    Lin thrives on having the ball in his hands and breaking the D down. He and Melo cannot coexist IMO. Lin and Amare would be an absolutely sick combo though. Amare did so well in the pick and roll with Nash in Phoenix and it'll be much of the same in New York especially since he is much more offensively inclined than Chandler.

    But the Suns offense NEVER did run outside of Nash.

    And this is the same head coach.

    So worry not, D'Antoni will make it work, with or without Melo.

    Stoudemire, meanwhile, is giddy.
