He may have had to do it to take the visits that his mom wants. Les' policy has always been that when you commit it means you don't visit other schools. He has pulled scholarship offers from 4-star recruits before for taking visits after committing and lying to him about it. I agree, if the guy wants to look around before deciding, then de committing is the right thing to do. Of course, LSU must now look around too. He leaves us with an unfilled position. If LSU fills it with another prospect, as Les has also done before, then LSU may not have room left to offer Hill again. Ya' takes your chances . . .
Huey would have had Saban shot at the border. Can you kick people out of a state like in the old days? "If I see you here again, you are going to be arrested" Kind of like what they did to Rambo in Hope B.C.
LSU backed away from the official visit rule a couple of years ago. We also reaffirmed this to all the early committed guys in exchange for their commitments. We will see many of our committed guys taking official visits in December and January.
How many of them will officially decommit before looking around? It's not like he had to decommit to look around. This is obviously a little different. May end up at LSU, but you can't say it's the same as some guys taking a few more officials.
Most wont officially decommit. The only reason JH decommitted is because Mom thought the commitment tag was holding him back (not being taken seriously by other programs).
Not saying this the the reason with Hill, sometimes when you get the parent who wants the recruit "to see all their options" it's the parent that who desires all 5 offical visits so they (the parent) can enjoy the attention and the nice meals and lodging that are part of the visits.Try being 17 years old and knowing what school you want and being pulled by a parent that wants you take the maximum amount of visits.
I know a lot of Head Coaches does not want a recruit to commit to his team and go take a visit to another team. Coach Saban and Coach Miles are two of those kind of Coaches.
Yes it's terrible the way a 17 year old ,doesn't stand by his verbal to a Coach, have to wonder what does it say when events of the past 48 hrs have Coaches getting increased$$ added to signed contracts to stay at a school.
