Where he doesn't want to be is Wichita County, TX. There are 2 judges there, both personal friends of mine, who absolutely throw the book and anything else they can find, at sex offenders. There was a case last year where a mom's boyfriend got caught looking at her 6 year old daughter as she was sleeping. He had slid her panties down and was just looking, no penetration of any kind had occured. 99 years.
In the Genarlow Wilson case it was consensual and the "victim" was 15, but oral sex of any kind was illegal in Georgia at the time. I think it was her parents who pressed the charges. There were very archaic sex laws in the state, ones that hadn't been rewritten or even looked at in over 100 years. The Georgia supreme court reduced his sentence to two years, but did not overturn the conviction. So even with the early release, the damage has pretty much been done. Because he got a BJ from a girl two years younger than him at a party he'll always be an ex-con and a registered sex offender. Here's the dumbest part of that case:
the case in ga, i remember that. VERY consensual. that was a miscarriage of justice big time. i dont know the specifics here. if it was consensual, no coercion at all, then even at 14, they were horny kids. stupid, cause she is 14 and jailbait, but horny. if there was any coercion or intimidation, then he not only showed an error in judgement, he preyed on a young girl sexually. even if the girl is a known head case, if she didnt want to and she was coerced or intimidated he committed a crime. because even with horny teenagers, no means no. bottom line is, we can only speculate. clm will get a lot more information than we will, and i trust him to make the right decision based on the known facts.
There was a story maybe a year or 2 ago. He got out after an appeal. I think he ended up doing like 3 or 4 years total. He was 19 when he started, so like 23 or 24 when he was out. He got like 25 originally I think, so he got lucky he was released. I think the hold up was that he never wanted to admit being a sex offender and having to register, thus why they were so hard on him.
Well... LSU has already committed to this kid....but given the current scandal I think LSU should change its mind and decommit to Jeremy Hill, and then later on LSU can recommit again next year if the kid is cleared of the charges.
If you are talking about the same case, they were so hard on him because that was the mandatory sentence. He refused to accept the plea bargain because he didn't feel he did anything wrong. The plea would have been an automatic 5-year sentence with a chance for early parole, but would have still come with sex offender status. Not sure how you can say he was lucky, his life is ruined because of some archaic Georgia sex laws. Since he's still a sex offender, he's not allowed to return to his family because he has an 8-year old sister who he is not allowed to be around. Just to give you an idea of how stupid the Georgia sex laws were, up until 10 years ago it was illegal for even married couples to engage in oral sex. You could get up to 20 years for getting a beejer from your wife.
let's jus say if this girl is a school whore and bragged about doing sexual acts including this one and sometimes even lying abt who she did them with and only says something because she got upset and for revenge. Also the girl texts boy initiating the contact and even talks on facebook about it....im sorry but I have sympathy for Jeremy Hill
