LOL...look up "hummer" in the urban dictionary. BTW, I find your sig pic offensive. Longhorn abuse is a serious offense and should NOT be taken lightly. They are majestic animals.
Based on the extension of probation from the judicial system which I consider a non punishment. Since he was already on probation at the time and broke it. He was voted back onto the team by teammates rather than that being decided by CLM himself. Personally that IMO is a way of shirking the responsibility by our coach. His teammates are not who I feel should be held accountable for maintaining team discipline - that's the coaching staff's job. He will receive "internal discipline". No announcement of any game suspension. Unless CLM is waiting to announce it at a later time, not being sat down is non punishment. This is a serious offense and discipline short of being benched is inadequate in my opinion.
All of your points have already been refuted, so I won't bother. You hate him because you have some sort of bias, and that's okay. But he's going to play. Get over it.
I hate him? News to me. What sort of bias do I have against him? I thought he was by far the best RB on the team last year. Actually all this time I thought I liked him and wanted him to succeed. On the field and as a human being. But I guess you know more than I do about what I think. If I missed somewhere that it was announced that he will face tangible team punishment for getting in a fight that's my bad. Point me in the right direction. But a "do better" talk or whatever unspecified internal discipline he's facing isn't enough IMO. Mine doesn't matter though, it's CLM's that matters. If he doesn't sit for at least a game or 2 or 3 I'll be disappointed.
Yep, you're right. Your opinion doesn't really matter. None of ours' do. CLM said in his presser that other punishment was forthcoming. Les has more facts than we do. I'm sure he is also taking into account the entirety of his relationship with JH. He knows what kind of person he is and how he goes about his daily business. Maybe he will sit him down for a few games, maybe he won't. However, we know that CLM is not afraid to discipline in whatever means necessary. I trust him to be no different now.
I don't doubt the CLM knows him better as a person than we as fans do. That's not my contention. However the entire world saw what he did and it's bad. To me internal discipline is for internal or minor infractions. Missing class. Being late to practice. Missing curfew. Even getting into a fight with a team mate in practice. But in this case the infraction is very public and documented for all time on the Internet for the world to see our dirty laundry. That's why I feel the punishment should be public as well. And it should be commensurate with the infraction. It could have been much worse so I'm not saying kick the kid off the team for a fight. But don't be one of those coaches that let's his players get away with anything (or appears to) so long as they're talented.
My point, which I think you missed, is that it should be commensurate with the infraction, but taking the WHOLE picture into account. That would include the entirety of the fight. We got a snippet. Maybe the dude landed a few blows on JH and his posse before he got put down.
Honestly, I think I took offense to your assertion that probation extension is a non-punishment. I've been on probation before...not even as restrictive as his...and I can tell you that it's miserable. It's miserable to take off work and wait in line in a barely-air-conditioned office every month to take a whiz quiz. It's miserable to have to apply to take a vacation and hope your probation officer is in a good mood. It's miserable to have said probation officer visit you at work and get your co-workers asking questions. It's miserable trying to come up with $100 every month to pay the department of probation and parole when you're working part time at minimum wage because your record won't allow you to get anything better. Adding two YEARS to that would have really gotten to me, and his carries even more baggage.
If his family is out BR, I'm sure he has to get permission just to go visit them. I've had several employees who were on probation. Those PO's really treated them like dirt.
I'm not that old. I know what a hummer is, just don't know why you would get in trouble for getting one.
