Crabtree is a recruiting analyst for rivals.com

    when analyzing LSU's class:

"The recent addition of Lavar Edwards could go down as one of the biggest steals in the nation. The three-star prospect can flat out ball."

In rivals screwed up scoring system, LSU LOST 4 points after adding Edwards to our commit list. He actually downgraded our class.

    Pretty funny shyt.

Make em pay Lavar. Make em pay.

Crabtree goes on to say that LSU will finish around #5 if we get all the players we are going after.

If we get a top 5 class we will truely have a great year considering the limited amount of talent coming out of Louisiana this year.

Does anyone else not see how asinine it is for Crabtree to say he is such a great player and therefore is underrated? He is the one making the rating. If he thinks he's underrated.... RATE HIM HIGHER.

That's like Kiper saying some NFL prospect is really underrated in his own prospect list. It doesn't make a bit of sense.

No one has questioned Edwards' talent. It's other factors that have been questioned. If Edwards can put it together at the college level, he'll be a hell of a steal with Thomas if commits to LSU.

Edwards is correctly rated as a 3 star. His stats & film aren't great, but his measurables are awesome & he can be really special if he puts it all together. I was not real high on Edwards because I didn't think that our coaches could change heart. I thought he either has it or he doesn't.

However, I was reading an article about how he had to play both ways and several positions, etc and I can see where that would really drag down production.

We've got a great DLine at LSU with more great recruits coming in, and if Lavar turns into the player that he's capable of being, then he'll earn a starting spot & be a dominant player for us. If not, no big deal. Our DLine isn't going to be depending on him. He was a project worth taking on - I'm glad he's in this class.

That's an interesting point about "changing heart".

On our current roster, I can't think of a single player being considered lazy. So would you say that our program generates hard workers or that our program only recruits hard workers?

A little of both, and yet neither.

We have slackers in our program, we just don't see them because they don't get playing time.

So Crabtree is admitting how badly they've scouted and ranked Edwards, but is unwilling to do anything about it. Got it. Thank you Mike Scarborough.

It's not Mike's fault... The individual site owners rank the state's players, and give their opinions if asked, but don't have anything to do with the star ratings.
