So did Harris last year. The point you are all missing is that it takes a few years for the average high school quarterback to be ready for Division I action. Some take longer than others and your "ceiling" doesn't mean shit when it comes to how ready you are to play ball.
I'm not arguing that, I was just saying Jamrcus started games in 2004. To back up your point, he also had a year in the system as a redshirt similar to Jarrett Lee, Jameis Winston, and Johnny Manziel. Harris started 1 game last year, a year ahead of all the qb's listed. I agree with you, coaches don't want to start a true freshman at qb, that's an indictment on your club at that position, and it's a grim one.

Indictment? No coach wants to start a freshman for very good reasons. The point is that a quarterback's "upside" doesn't mean shit if he doesn't understand how to play the position. Coaches can't make him older by wishing it. They have to wait until he gets it.
