Just read the release from his talk show and heard Miles is starting Jefferson. This is beyond any explanation and can only be explained as Miles being completely stubborn and Stupid. I am sick to my stomach. I think we can win with Lee, I think we lose with JJ..........How the PHUCK can he not see that JJ is lost and useless at this point?
Well... they didn't trust Lee and the pressure is still on JJ. Like I have said, not lying to players is not such a bad thing. And I don't see why JJ would have been cold, he was probably right next to the coaches knowing that he would come in in goal line situations. And in a perfect world, he would have known more about what the coaches wanted to do in the last few plays than Lee did. If they just would have told JJ the second play!!!!!!!!
Guys, haven't you figured out the Les Miles logic, yet? Jefferson was the QB when we won the game. So, the way Leslie sees it, we won because JJ was in the game. Forget the fact that Lee led a spectacular last-minute drive down the field. He didn't actually win the game for us. After the way the man pissed away 30 seconds with 3 downs left, this should come as a surprise to no one. He's a special kind of stupid. Our entire offensive philosophy is based around the single idea of finding the one thing that we are least likely to do and going with that. And hey, according to Les, we're 5-0, so let's keep at it!:thumb:
You hit the nail on the head red. That, to me, was CLM's most egregious mistake of all last week, yanking Lee for the final plays after he had led us down the field and put us in position to win the ballgame. You think Jefferson would've completed that 4th-and-15 to keep the drive alive? Does anyone think he would have? Doubt it. Believe it or not, I would have no problem with a two-QB system, except for the fact that this coaching staff has shown me before they have absolutely no feel for how to properly manage such a system. Okay, we're gonna start Jefferson. Are we gonna run simple, high-percentage plays that allow him to make some easy completions and get his confidence going? Are we gonna most effectively utilize what he brings to the table? Or are we just gonna trot out there with the same ol' crap we've run the last four games and fall flat on our face? And when does Jarrett Lee make his debut, and how do they play from there on out? Do they alternate series no matter what? That's dumb. Do you play Jefferson until he makes a big screw-up, yank him the very next series, and then play Lee until he screws up, then yank him, and on and on and on? Equally stupid. Are they gonna give either quarterback enough time in the game to get a feel for the Florida D, establish some rythm and confidence, and put together a drive? Highly doubtful at this point. You have to be willing to scrap your drawn-up pregame plan (if there even is one) and ride the QB that has the hot hand. And not bail on him the minute he does something wrong, but stick with him unless and until you just know the train is about to jump the tracks.
But the Saban pumpers MUST reinforce the urban myth that Saban and his wife "miss Baton Rouge and the friends they made there" because their friend's neighbor's cousin's milkman bumped into Saban's wife in Tuscaloser and she said so! So for their fantasy world (that Saban would return to LSU and they could then invite Nicky to their circle jerk) to become a reality, they need to desperately convince everyone that Miles and his wife hate it here and long to move back to the Midwest. In reality, these people are the only ones that hate Miles and his family being here.
One more comment; red was also absolutely right about the message it sent, to Jefferson, but to especially Lee. It's plain as day, the coaching staff does not trust Jarrett Lee to do the right and best thing with the football in a critical game situation. They'd rather go with Jefferson there, a quarterback who's mantra is, "Better to do nothing at all, than to do something dangerous." And against Tennessee, we were three seconds away from the ultimate NOTHING (admittedly, more on our coaches than Jefferson) They'll put Lee out there when we absolutely have to have movement in the passing game, because it's painfully obvious now even to our stubborn coaches that Jefferson just doesn't have it in him to lead a 2-minute drill, but will Lee ever get the chance to redeem himself and win a ballgame? I honestly don't know.
I'm sorry man, but THERE IS NO TALENT OBVIOUS WITH JEFFERSON!!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS!?!? Maybe if they move him to WR, but he wouldn't even be a good QB at Southern or ULM!!!! He is ABSOLUTE garbage!!!!
you ought to reassess your priorities in life the young man you call "garbage" has family, friends, and associates who, in all probability think he's a great young man. he's tried to do what is asked of him, has led as best he could, and from all reports has never complained or caused trouble on the team or to the university. you should be ashamed of yourself to say what you said
If you could leave one in baton rouge and take one to fl who would it be? I would rather bring crowton and leave Jefferson. No one single person has been worse for this team than Jordon Jefferson. He is the worst qb ever to play at lsu. Only miles sees him as a starter. Early in the week I was defending miles. Now I'm pissed. If we lose this game because of 3 and outs and turnovers while jj is qb I will have a fire miles now bumper sticker on my truck. Even playing this fool is stupid. Jj is a cry baby. We will lose with Jordon Jefferson. No way anyone can look at how he has played and honestly say he deserves to be on the field. Stupid stupid stupid stupid to play this dumdazz even one play as our qb after what we have seen of him so far. Damn
