Obviously. But Lee has earned the right to start at this point in my mind. He can throw the football.
I'm not buying that Miles doesn't love Louisiana. He has done so much off the field stuff for this state, including the hurricane relief, and was also down in the gulf during the spill. I think CLM is a great man, and a great leader, and a great father figure to these kids, and a pillar in the community.
I agree. We absolutely must use both quarterbacks and use them similar to the way Spurrier used to use Weurffel and Johnson (from memory, correct me if I'm wrong). You have to play them both and then go with the "HOT HAND." Since we are so inconsistent at that position I believe this is what gives us the best shot at winning. At one point I thought we should pick our best horse and ride it through, but we don't have that luxury and after last Saturday, I think we need to play them both.
I think we see, much like last week, JJ start the game, but JL come in and the 2 of them rotate. I believe in this game JL will set the tone for the passing game, opening up the threat of when JJ is in that it could be a run or pass, and get more of the meaningful snaps. As long as JJ doesn't come in and undue the work the JL achieves, while he is out there, this team will be able to move the ball and score against the UF D. There is the potential to have a somewhat confusing offensive scheme, but then again we still have GC as our OC. The biggest problem I see with this set up is the O has shown that they have a tendancy to commit penalties, killing drives, of which I would guess might have a lot to do with the difference in each of the QB's cadence. If the O can adjust to this, play sound efficient ball, and eliminate the TO's there is the potential to beat everyone we face. Of course those are big IF's.
And you don't see the problem with that? If you can't rely on your starting QB to be able to throw the ball and lead your team's 2 minute drill, Why is he your starting QB?
What?? If you take the passing QB out, the threat goes with him. That's the problem with using a RB as a QB. Until JJ proves he himself can pass it won't open anything up for him.
JJ maynot be able to pass beyond 10 yds very effectively, but the short routes he can be pretty solid. That is the game that we need to limit him to. It is the longer passes that he gets in trouble with. The short pass, 5-10 yd range, is his only strength, if you want to consider one. With the rotation of JL, being able to throw longer routes, and JJ in for the shorter game or in to run, it can open up the O and create some confusion on D. The possible threat of either of them passing or us running can be there. Again, the bigger problem is we still have GC as the OC, will he know how to use their strengths to more efficiently operate the O. It is what UF did in the past, when the had Leak and Tebow, and it can be done by us. It's kinda the purpose for having a passing QB and a running QB. Unfortunately, JJ isn't the all to be all when running the ball. I'm not saying it'll work for us, which is why I say may or could, but that could be better than what we are doing, which is nothing.
You're in Colorado so may not be aware of just how unhappy the fans are. It's a true reflection of what I hear EVERYWHERE I go in public where I live in the middle of Louisiana. Hopefully the team starts playing better and the coaches quit loading the fans' guns with ammo. There will always be those who like to voice the negatives they see, that's just how they choose to "enjoy" sports. Others try to be objective though their perceptions are not always accurate.
Sophisticated SEC defenses will take away anything that predictable. If he can't stretch the field, they will put 8 in the box and stuff the run and the crossing patterns. That was the book on Jefferson last year and nothing has changed except Jefferson has regressed and the defenses are familiar with what is coming. The SEC is too good to run a limited, one-dimensional offense. Lee has issues, too, but he throws the ball down the field and gains yardage. It opens up the running game, too.
