Jefferson wanted to run instead of pass on Scott's game winning TD

What if John McCain was elected.
What if JL played and threw a pick.
What if the olympics came to Baton Rouge.
What if a hurricane hit the gulf coast.

Never have been a fan of what ifs.
    They never happen!

Hint, we are gonna lose, I don't think anyone thought this team would be undefeated.
I wish we could have a magical year but I don't know if it will happen.
Do i think we can beat Florida and Bama both this year, no I don't.
I don't think we are that good yet but are 5-0, improving and gaining some experience.

I will say this, I have MANY doubts and definately don't see us winning the NC, likely not even the SEC ( but there is hope )

BUT there is a high probability that NO team will go undefeated this year. So it is kind of silly to say we will lose. Very likely we will lose. The real issue is HOW will we lose. Will the O line get healthy and start pushing off the ball? or are we too thin there? That's the real question... How many do we lose? Each and EVERY time we win just one game, that is ONE LESS we can lose. I know that is obvious but so was your post.

We have several tough games ahead. BUT WE CAN win them. It is possible that is why they are still scheduled. Sure we have issues but so do other teams.

I got an idea. lets go ahead and play these games coming up, just in case we improve. what do you think? I mean we are 5-0 there is no sense in just throwing that out the window right? what if we luck up and win 3-5 more.....

    stranger things have happened.

Any criticism of anything equates to hate, fools. LSU roolz, haters droolz.

    :insane:

    Get a clue.

I like the fact he wanted to run. Proves to me he has a good head on his shoulders.

wish the coaches would see that and scrap the check with me playcalling bullchit that takes us out of rhythm.

...like in the drive that led to Scott's first TD in the 4th QTR.

Yup, that is a good sign.

I was thinking "damn", another run! But based on the post game comments, he obviously was not only confident about Scott, but also about the O-line's ability to pull the play. Dickson mentioned after the game that that particular play had worked the whole day.

    :thumb:

Takes him out of the "thinking too much" mode and puts him more in the "instinctive" mode.

I think he will slip into that instinctive gear with more experience and confidence. Looks like he is heading that way. He did that in the drive when he had nice passes to Reuben.

You beat me to it. I was thinking that it is a sign of maturity rather than insecurity.

Very much agree. ....anything is possible , who knows.

I am not putting too much expectations on this team with a green QB who needed maturation, and an O-line that has yet to gel. I like the direction JJ is heading.

Let's play one game at a time.........

"It was second-and-5, with under a minute to go, and Charles is a big, power back," Jefferson said. "I recommended we run it. I didn't want to pass the ball in that situation and throw a pick that would keep us from getting points."

Here was our offensive problem on Saturday. JJ's first pick of the day in the endzone made him timid. He was afraid to make any mistakes. Although this is consistently an issue with JJ, it was much worse against UGA.

Although I do expect Jefferson to improve each week, I do not expect this to be something that changes this season. If we're lucky, he'll have worked it out of his system by next season.

Well, I say kudos to a young kid feeling confident enough to tell the coaches what play he felt would work best by knowing his limitations. Very difficult thing for a guy to do knowing that all eyes are on him. I doubt any players respect him any less for it, especially after Charles Scott made him look good.

Now he needs to tell the coaches to stop calling that damn option play...

The coaches need to teach them how to run it properly and it would be awesome with him or RS at QB.
