Hmmmm. They were heavily criticized during Katrina by other police forces. Crime is rampant in Baton Rouge and the chief just had to be replaced. I'm not suggesting that they are corrupt, like the New Orleans police, but they have not been on top of their game lately.
Jarrett Lee couldn't start for USL. He's horrible. At least with JJ he had the mobility to make gains out of bad plays. Lee will be sacked or hurried once per series and 1st downs will be hard to come by. This really worries me.
This isn't the freshman thrown to the wolves, this is a slimmer, stronger, more experienced and more motivated senior quarterback.
The cops are in an impossible position. They let Jefferson off the hook and the howling of special treatment for football players would never end. They arrest him and have a ton of pissed off fans to deal with. If this is the minefield they have to navigate, they wouldn't have made an arrest without some very strong evidence besides the say-so of witnesses.
I'm not mad at the police. I'm pissed off at the dumb ass that used to wear the number 9 jersey. Maybe he can transfer to Ole Miss.
