Our offense did score a sufficient-enough number of points to win in most of the games. However, you cannot deny that we lost to UGA and Bama by the number of points that were given away on pick sixes. I don't think RP would've thrown all of those, do you? Our lack of an experienced QB stalled many key drives, as well. The season was unsuccessful for a multitude of reasons, but I still put the RP debacle at or very near the top.
I'm with Stacey O on this one. You can't overestimate the importance of morale in a game or a season. You can't just subtract points off the board and claim we would have won or lost as if the game had no emotional component. Emotion and momentum play a huge part in determining the outcome of football games. The interceptions for TD's were demoralizing and affected our team's confidence. We won a lot of games with Flynn last year because we had confidence we could and would win even though we were trailing.
LOL, okay. Nevermind that the defense allowed an average of 13 ppg...and if they had allowed any MORE, we would have lost four or five instead of just the two. But go ahead and blame the QB. That comes with the position.
They are both to blame. I think the bottom line here is that with just a little improvement from either, there may have been a 2-3 game swing. So this Jefferson kid...I hear he's taking some ownership in the huddle.
