http://www.sportsline.com/spin/story/10859678 Great news, assuming they do it right! Their blurry games were horrible to watch... Now I need to dig out my HD antenna, because the channel it's on in New Orleans is channel 54, and DirecTV doesn't carry that one in HD.
In Baton Rouge WAFB moves as many as half the games to WBXH which has no HD capacity as far as I know. I imagine it will be hit and miss all over the South for which affiliates will actually show the games in HD. Still, it is a big step forward.
Any station that don't show it in HD in this day, should not be allowed to broadcast the game at all.
I have always liked the JP/LF/Raycom games. Sure, the production value is lower, but I have always thought the broadcasters were more knowledgeable than most, and it allows me to watch one more game during the day than I otherwise would.
This is great news....I just got word that Direct TV promises my local channels in HD in the upcoming months. With money tight right now, I have contemplated buying a HD antenna. I just hope my area is one of the first on their list to roll out.
Money tight but you could afford the receiver and the HD premium?? LOL, this is intended as a shot at DTV for being ridiculously expensive on its HD service, so don't take it personally. I have an HD antenna but only get four HD channels (one is LPB). WAFB is not one of them. :angryfire
Nothing like seeing a second-rate product in high resolution. That's like sitting first class on a crop duster flight from coast to coast. I can't WAIT to see Dave Baker in HD...
