You wanna argue that JJ isn't a good QB? Whatever. I don't think he is either. But the idiotic angle that JJ is somehow physically unable, after only missing 1 month, to play 1 drive in a gimmie game is just stupid.
I would argue he's not capable - physically or mentally - of being the type of quarterback to lead the offense consistently against either good teams or bad teams. I point to the Tennessee game because he only led one drive down the field in that game - the 87-yard run on the very first play. After that, squadoosh. I would wager that the '10 Tennessee team is comparable to this year's Kentucky team. So considering he couldn't do it last year while practicing full time, what makes you think he's capable of anything now, not having practiced for 6 weeks?
It's not about being in physical shape, for QB it's more about timing and being in the flow. If you put him out there before he has a chance to run through the plays and get his timing down you're just begging for a fumble.
So nothing has changed. If Miles played him last year and he didn't produce then Miles has nothing to lose by playing him today. Worse case he doesn't produce again. It's not a matter of if he's capable or not. I don't think he is either. However Miles has a better opinion of him. If Miles didn't care enough after the Tenn game to make Lee the start, what makes you think Miles is going to look at the Tenn game of last year and tell JJ he's not going to get 1 drive in this game? The thread is about IF JJ will play. Not SHOULD JJ play.
Saw JJ dressed out in the geaux zone chute feed a few minutes ago, as well as our starter, JL; Howard wearing #38, Alleman wearing #30, must have missed Wing.
