Time to get Cameron Heyward, which is what I predicted 10 days ago.

And we still have a good shot at Corley.

I didn't know if we would sign all 3 of these guys anyway. May turn out just fine.

Don just reports what he hears just like many others here. Many times he is right and often he is wrong, but at least he posts what he thinks is valid info that fans want to hear. I don't think you can find any recruiting expert on any board that has a perfect record.

nothing to do with his smarts, he just has an undying love for everything purple and gold and that tends to skew his reporting and outlook on things. hard to get upset with someone like that.

have to wonder if offering a greyshirt made up his mind to go to Gtech, who offered a full scholarship.

I would say that played a huge part in his decision. A full ride directly out of high school has to be the preference for almost all of these kids. Plus many of them dont have the resources to even pay for 1/2 a year on thier own. Not saying Peters could or couldnt but some dont have a choice.

Greyshirts are kind of a new thing. Not new in the sense it was just recently approved but new as in schools seeming to use it more. It can be a good strategy especially in a year like this one where there are so many quality recruits. We just cant land all of them unless some greyshirt.

One thing to remember about greyshirting though, they carry a minor risk factor. The NCAA was quoted a couple years ago as saying that greyshirt recruiting was one of the red flags they looked at. Like I mentioned above, many kids cant afford to pay their own way and if one of those accepts a greyshirt you can be asking for attention from the NCAAZIS. Not that we are doing that but why risk it especially "if" its obvious from a kids background that paying their own way is not an option.

It didn't play a part... It was the reason.
