There is always talk that with experience the game slows for any given player. I see that the game has gone from 70MPH to 65 or 60 for Jefferson. He just hasn't progressed they way he should. I've been a big supporter of him until I see the results. The 1st two games are not encouraging. So you almost have to see what the other guy has. It's entirely possible he has settled down enough to be a consistent threat. We done need a superstar...just good, steady play from the QB position. The rest takes care of itself.

Until they recruit someone better than JJ... uh... yeah?

JL has been a head case and until he proves that he isn't, he shouldn't get too much playing time in "real" games. He couldn't even handle the mental stress of being in the LA Tech game. Until he can do at least that sort of low pressure situation without melting down, I don't want him in a big game. I am still amazed that people's memories are so short. Pull out the tapes and sit through those games again. The Vandy game was not even close to being as bad of mental torture for the fans as some of those games were.

Land a big time JUCO guy that tears it up and I am all on board for next year finding a new QB. Let the best player play. JL has not shown that he is the best player in a pressure situations.

Well JJ posted on FB Sat morning "Jordan Jefferson Cant find the perfect brush to paint what's goin thru my mind
Yesterday at 9:43am via Mobile Web · Comment · Like"
I think he is trying to overthink what they are feeding him, he has the skills, maybe he just needs to try and make his receivers and RBs look good rather than worry about how he looks? JL came in threw one (nice) pass & Vandy backed out from loading the box and Ridley was able to do what he does! JL deserves a little "leeway" maybe a couple of years have matured him and his consciousness of the defenders.

The pass was quick. The pass was sharp. The pass was completed. The plays were executed crisply, even if all Lee was doing was handing off. No wasted motion. It looked like a different team, one that knew what it was doing. Lee was in control--something we're still not seeing with Jefferson after almost one and a half seasons. Bring back Lee, before the season slips away.:geauxtige

That was last year. We've seen what hasn't improved with Jefferson--almost everything. I think it's time to see how much Lee has or hasn't improved before LSU gets too far into the season and finds out that Lee HAS, with no time left to do any good, because it's too late in the season.

I respectfully have to disagree with your diagnosis. First, JL was subjected to tremendous pressure from being thrown into the fire when it wasn't quite his time, the win expectations, and the boos from the crowd. Yet he had to hang on and keep on fighting until he got hurt. Most would have given up; but he decided to stay on with the team and continue to compete as an underdog. How can he be branded as a head case already?

I see his performance in the La Tech game as being rusty on the bench and having to play with a weak OL, not his inability to handle the stress of the game.

At this point, all things point to the urgent need to get him to start playing, while letting JJ sit back and regroup. What if he is more effective than JJ in moving the offense? I have yet to see definitive proof that JL is a head case.

I'll say this...JL needs a wheelbarrow to tote his sack around campus. Lesser men would've quit a long time ago.

I don't advocate yanking the job from JJ. I advocate getting Lee in early, and letting him get some real reps. Ease him in. If he's clearly better after a couple of games, make the switch. If he isn't, but he isn't hurting the team, keep it going. If he's no different than what we've seen out of him in the past, ease him out. Let him in only in mop up when the games well in hand.
