I moved to AR 4 years ago .. but I just can't let go of LSU. They are home. And it is tearing my heart out to watch a team I think is capable of winning the SECW just lay down and die because Les Miles won't give Lee the same chance he gave Jefferson when Lee was sucking. :geaux:
The reason the WRs are dropping passes has little to do with confidence. It is because Jefferson does not deliver a catchable ball to them in the "strike zone". Too often he throws the ball too hard and the ball is is delivered to a spot that far too often is just low enough, behind, or high enough to interrupt the direction and inertia of their route. Yes, some of these passes wind up hitting the receivers in the hands, but often this is after the receiver has to stoop down, twist behind them, hop up and reach, etc. Very few of these passes are dropped into the sweet spot.
Dude .. I respect your optimism .. but if we do not get a passing game going soon, we are not going to have much to celebrate. We have not scored but two TDs in the last three games from drives originating in LSU territory. We went in to FL in 2008 4-0, .. We went in to FL in 2009 5-0. Just how much weight can you give the first 4-5 games .. not much, because both seasons ended up a bust. If we had blew the competiton away, I'd say a lot. But, sqeaking by on defense doesn't cut it. FL, Bama, AU, and AR, are not likely to give us the mistakes that have lead to "automatic FG range". Without those FG, we would not be able to claim 4-0. Granted .. it's all part of the game ... but let's get real. Lala land is not where I choose to live. We've got a lot going for us. - Ridley is the best back I've seen in a decade. - We've got 3 great receivers - We've got the best Special Teams and Defense in the Country, IMO. I think we can win the SECW .. IF .. we can get some passing game out of our QB. Let's face it, I don't care what anyone says .. JJ is no running QB. In fact, he pretty much sucks as a running QB. He needs to learn to pass. Miles needs to leave the running to the RBs and let JJ focus on the passing game. .... or .... put Jarret Lee in.
First of all, nobody has laid down and died. This team fights every week for the full 60. Second of all, Miles waited until game 9 of 2008 to replace Lee with Jefferson, and only because of injury. So don't act like Miles had a quick hook with Lee way back when, he let him flounder for the whole season, and Lee never improved.
As bad as JJ has been, this is an absolute lie and you know it. The interception that TT dropped was right on, the first down that Shepard dropped was right on. Dont lie to make the kid look worst than what he is. I'll admit he is pretty damn bad right now, but dont lie to make yourself seem like you know what you are talking about just because we are down on the kid. Other than that Lee should get the start next week. He needs an entire game.
I don't know if this has been posted yet, because the threads are too many for me to plow thru them all, but if JJ is any kind of man and truly cares about whats best for the team, he will go to Miles and tell him that even he believes that JL gives the Tigers the best shot at getting to where we want to be.
