Good stats. Brings it home that JL & JJ are closer overall than one might think. JL has earned his place here and everyone knows and appreciates his loyalty. He bleeds purple & gold. And now JL has real momentum and a quiet, steady leadership--and the team is so much more solid for this. The D may be "driving the bus" but the O are not just passengers this year! Thanks for the link.
Lee sucess is fragile. It must be cared for so it can grow. Miles has done an excellent job of adding a little to lee's plate every game. By the end of the season lee could be a championship caliber qb. BUT if jj returns , lee may feel the heat of jj on his heels. Everything could collapse around us. I wish things could stay just as they are. I doubt it will, though.
I feel your pain RW ... the thought of JJ back on the field and putting pressure on JL is a real worry. CLM is going to have to make it clear to JJ that JL is the Starter ... get used to it. I just look at all we'll lose. Ware and Ford are tearing it up ... half of their plays will evaporate with JJ carrying the ball. The rhythm that has formed between the WRS and JL will be demolished, and replaced with the JJ brand of mass confusion that we've been so privy to enjoy for the last two years. Bottom Line .. JJ can't handle the pressure. I looked it up. Not ONCE last year did he perform under pressure. JL had to bail us out of FL and TN. The problem, is when you turn up the heat, JJ wants to run .. and he's just not that good of a runner. AND ... since he sucked as a passing QB, defenses had no reason to respect the pass. .. and since CLM didn't turn JL lose and let him establish a rhythm with the receivers, they still didn't respect the pass. You can bet your butt they will respect the pass this year. He's putting in the best performance for a LSU QB since 2007 .. maybe even better than Flynn.
Dang! You are right! I unhappily remember how JJ was so predictable to the D by always looking to his primary receiver--there WAS no secondary receiver, JJ just dumped it out to #1 or took off downfield. Too predictable, and the opposition read him correctly: near-panic + poor decision-making whenever the play deviated from the book. JL needs total breathing room; I am not even sure that JJ should be riding the pine. This new O of ours is building its identity with every practice, scrimmage and game. Let's not F it up.
You can bet your arse if jj goes into a game and stinks it up or throws an interception tiger stadium booing will be heard for twenty miles.
