I know he was but ask anyone else outside Texas and LA who Lee is and they won't know who you are talking about. Mallet got all the recognition not Lee.

Those are the kind of statements that make me cringe, makes it appear that a season will not be considered successful unless we win a NC, which is absurd.

Neither are worth waisting time thinking about. We've got what we've got. Period. No other freshman QB at LSU has ever had the kind of talent surrounding him as Lee does. We'll be just fine, and maybe better off.

I look for Lee to start and surrounded by great talent he will be fine. Sure he will make mistakes but all qb's do, especially young ones do.

The sky's falling! The sky's falling!

Come on guys...have a little faith. Jeez, haven't we learned anything? Our program is just fine and there is no reason to expect anything less than greatness this year. I can't believe people are writing off this season, and it's only May. :rolleye33:

I said our goal is to win a :crystal: but I am realistic to know that won't happen every year or even once every 5 yrs. To think with the type of talent CLM is bringing in that a Nation Championship is not realistic is crazy. We are in the best of times for the LSU program and I am excited to see JL lead this team.

Matt Mauk had loads of team talent, was very smart and no means a superstar, where did he get us?
    :crystal:

Jamarcus Russell had loads of talent, no too bright on decisions, was a superstar and where did he get us?
2007 Sugar Bowl (Because of FL jump to BCSNC)

Matt Flynn had loads of talent, was very smart and no means a superstar and where did he get us?
    :crystal:

See where I'm going with this......

We'll be fine guys, chill out.

It's unrealistic to think a team will repeat as national champion no matter what talent is coming back. You just want a shot at getting in the game and then let it all hang out. RP is a loss but not one that couldn't be overcome. The staff will get Lee and Hatch plenty of reps before the season starts. Both Mauck and Flynn lacked the arm stregnth of JR or RP yet we won titles. The talent around the QB's and the "damn strong" defense we had enabled both teams to succeed.
