Well, we finally hear a bit from J. Lee on all of this: Despite the offense's struggles in LSU's 21-0 loss the Alabama in the BCS championship game Monday night at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, backup Jarrett Lee didn't play. Lee was a good solider afterward, saying he trusted the coaches' decision and was more concerned about the team losing. But he was short when asked whether Coach Les Miles or any of the coaches approached him during the game. "No, he (Miles) hasn't (approached him),'' said Lee, a fifth-year senior. As for if he approached the coaches about lack of playing time following the Nov. 5 Alabama game, Lee said: "Nope, sure haven't. I haven't talked to any coaches or anything. "I don't know it at all. I'm not really sure what happened, but I just tried to stay prepared for whenever my opportunity came. Obviously, it didn't. I don't know what the deal is, but this was a special team.'' And add some Russell Sheppard: FRUSTRATION: After the game, Tigers receiver Russell Shepard tweeted: "OMG I played 3 plays...'' Jarrett Lee: 'I don't know what the deal is, but this was a special team' | NOLA.com
We could have at least played jared for a couple snaps I am so pissed I feel like we were out coached on offense
Sad if he was never sat down and explained the situation. On Shep, he needs to get over himself. When he's had opportunities he hasn't impressed. He can't shake & bake SEC defenses like he did in HS. In addition, he's had a hard time holding on to passes.
No but he should be involved in a game plan against a defense like bama....especialy if your going to have short throws and reciever screens.
He's dropped "short throw" after short throw. To me, that's the problem getting him "involved" unless it's a quick pitch to utilize his speed to the edge. We seemed to want to run to Bama's strength though, up the gut.
That's not really fair to Shep. He hasn't done a very good job holding onto passes, but that's not necessarily his game. The OC needs to gameplan to get him the ball in space, not just stick him in the slot and hope for the best. Shep's best year was probably as a Fr when he was playing from the backfield, he DID "shake & bake" defenses. He only got a TOTAL of 21 touches this year, avg 11.5 yards per touch and 4 total tds on so little opportunities.
Jarrett earned a shot and i'm ashamed he didn't get a chance. It doesn't even matter that he earned a chance with his playing early in the year. It's the fact that what we were doing wasn't working and somebody, anybody, should have come in and taken over due to ineffectiveness alone. If you don't like Lee, how about Mett?? Or let Shep run the option because apparently JJ still doesn't get it. Put wing in at qb, anything except what we were doing. You have to adapt to the enemy. If you storm through a door and get shot, how many more times will you allow people to run through that door before someone says, hey, don't run through that door. Let's try something different. It's basic leadership skills. Your people trust you to put them in the best situation and we didn't. I really appreciate Lee. He quietly stood there game after game with his helmet on just hoping for a chance. His chance should have come last night. Damn us for not even trying. Congrats to bama. They beat us, no excuses, and it hurts. Luckily, as a team we will get a shot at redemption next year, even though Lee didn't get his.
Jefferson obviously is in possession of some pretty incriminating pictures of Miles and a farm animal performing some kinky acts! Nothing else could justify this!
