JL did a pretty darn good job. The TEAM seemed energized when he was in the game. Yeah, a little rusty but he has not played significantly in 2 years. The interception was an interception, no way to sugar coat it, perhaps a bit too much touch required for so little recent game experience. Well Done.

Thank you JL. And I hate that you were yanked after leading us down the field. You deserved to be in there. I want a throw, or hand off to a running back! Not JJ running, who has no clue and needs to look to the sideline when the clock is running down.

Probably been stated in other threads, but that interception hacked me off. It's partly on JL because Ridley was covered and should have thrown it deep or away. However, we complete a long pass (whassat?) and have great momentum and the crowd going nuts. Then we have to call timeout? And for what, to call some weird play instead of others that worked all game?

Gotta disagree there. Sending in JJ at that time gave us an additional option (a QB who's a threat to run) for UT to be prepared for. That they stopped the play was good D on their part. Now the part about sending JJ in with only one play is all on the coaches. You don't take a guy who has repeatedly shown he has no head for the game, and put him in with the game on the line and ask him to actually think.

I rewatched my taped game "highlights" this morning; you bet the team was energized, esp. the wide receivers who also seemed to have a second life; i.e. Randle, esp. Tolliver who had been frustrated so far this season. They sure seemed to have stepped up and stopped dropping balls; also the balls thrown seem to be right on the mark and very catchable. Lee's interception at the endzone was his error; he could have thrown it on the outside and it would have been a touchdown...I attribute that to his rustiness and relative lack meaningful playing time. I am confident he can learn and correct that.

The offense yardage yesterday speaks for themselves with Lee in the picture.

I did like the post game interview with Lee who still is very much talking as a team, including JJ in the picture.:thumb:

    Indeed .. JL did great.

70% ... 185 yrds .... clutch passes on third and long, and 4th and long.

The Interception was the Coaches fault. That is a play that needs your tall receiver, not a short running back. It's one of those you take the snap and throw long before the play develops. The way Ridley's been running, I would have run the ball instead, and taken the Seven.

Most of all .... JL proved he can move the ball. He is a LEADER, and it showed.

The Offense is going to have to get hold of the penalties. The rush by Ridley that was called back on a hold and stalled a potential score was inexcusable.

With JL at the helm, no penalties, Ridley's running, this offense can go places.

Disagree back at ya. Lee led us down the field. If he stays in, TN doesn't know whether we pass or run. We have running backs to run, QBs to throw, and Lee was the hot hand and deserved the chance. With JJ TN knew it was run all the way. Finally, don't use the word "option" ever again! :D

I've been rooting for this kid since he was first recruited. His propensity for INTs can be coached out, but his passing ability is all natural. We need that. I HATE the cracked-out version of the spread that we run here. I'd LOVE to see LSU return to a more pro-style offense, and we have the man to run it in LEE. His arm should balance out Ridley's tough running perfectly.

Anyway, on topic-thanks, Lee for justifying my faith in you and winning the game for us. You should do fine against Florida...especially after watching McElroy absolutely shred them last night.

I thought Lee played a decent game. When we was leading the team back at the end I didn't think he should have left the field.

However...uhh... he had a penalty or 2 at least every time he was on the field.

    Intentional grounding?
    Delay of game?
