you are wrong in that what they were doing was illegal. their aim was to count the votes accurately. they wanted the electoral college votes ruled invalid and the disputed states to recount or reconsider or revote or whatever. yunno, democracy.
You might want to re-read it. They even give examples of what Martin is talking about. In fact, there have been objections on Jan 6th before.
You apparently took creative reading rather than creative writing. There is nothing that qualified as an example after the act was made law. None of the circumstances listed in the act happened in January. It’s clear that had Pence followed Trump’s order he would have broken the law. Trump gave an illegal order.
Are you saying the commotion at the Capital (or "riot" if you prefer) was designed to stop the Electoral count? What is the best evidence of this? Is there a Qanon memo stating that? Wouldnt they just resume the count when the commotion was over, like they did? Was the goal to stop the count and install Trump as President? Is there a memo, email, text, etc..that states this? Was this memo distributed to the Qanon army? How were they going to complete this insurrection without weapons? Is QAnon an anti-gun organization? You sure this wasn't mostly peaceful protestors, with some that got manipulated by swamp instigators or provoked with tear gas to make it seem like an insurrection? - albeit the most pathetic insurrection in the history of the universe.
