I think you're wrong. I think if Mike Pence had it to do all over again he would cancel the meeting or refuse to accept the electors trump didn't like. Why am I confident in saying that? Because he underestimated at the time the complete scumminess of the Republican Party, who now hate him instead of the insurrectionists. By all accounts, he is not relishing that hatred. The US is 244 years old. Minus the 4 years of the civil war, Jan 6th went off without a hitch 240 times out of 244. We can do some rough math and assume that out of 1000 years, Jan 6th can happen 16 times if you consider the civil war equal to Jan 6th. Or 1.6% chance. If not, its 0/1000 However, there have been zero reports of Vikings during the civil war so I am still not sure it could even happen as a Viking sitting on the throne seems to be the deciding factor in all this. Likewise, unlike Jan 6th 2020, the civil war used an actual plan, leadership, guns, and many more people; and still failed.

jan 6th happens every year. if trump is re-elected, you will again have irrational fear about the loss of our democracy, even without him being on the ballot or jan 6th having any relevance, correct? so why should we limit our examples of safe days to ballot counting days? all days are opportunities for trump to take over?

i dont see why the folks freaking out about jan 6 think the supposed aspiring dictator trump would need any sort of riot to declare himself king. the riot didnt do anything, and had no chance to do anything.
