I could be wrong but I bet RS wan't thinking about these two guys or this analogy while sitting on the bench wondering WTF have I done. Of course, IMO.:geaux:
The difference is Bowe and Davis didnt play on inept Os. Also Bowe and Davis couldnt excel at multiple positions which makes it much easier to give Shepard more touches. Bowe and Davis werent the most explosive players on their teams either. Good news about Parker and Reed!
The difference is Bowe and Davis didnt come in nearly as heralded as Shep did and Doucet actually started a couple games as a true freshman. People were talking about Shep getting 30% of the snaps and saying he was one of the best recruits of all time when he was signed by LSU. Bowe and Davis where recruited as true receivers and Shep was recruited as a hybrid player with multiple skills. Bowe and Davis where 4 star players with Bowe rated as one of the lowest 4 star receivers that year. Shep came in as a high ranked 5 star, the top ranked player at his position and #7 overall. Anybody defending how Shep was used obviously misses the point. Is Miles or one of his underlings posting on this board now?
OK stat boy. Stats dont tell the whole story. Bowe had the drops for the early part of his career and Davis didnt really stand out until his JR year. The O as a whole was better then than it is now so their play wasnt needed. This O is very stale. Shepard can make a play out of nothing, his contributions were needed.
Its a message board. People are conversing about their opinons of whats going on at LSU. As usual youre the only one crying here.
Id agree that some of the talk is over the top. Some of threads are just repeats and un-needed. Although its been said about Shepards playing time its a legit fact. Its not being drawn out here IMO.
