The BCS championship game is on Jan 9th (Monday) in New Orleans. Hopefully the stars will align again for our Tigers to make it.

The NFL wild card weekend is Jan 7th-8th. If the Saints win their division but only have the 3rd best record in the NFC (for example Packers & Eagles have better records), the Saints would host a wild card game.

I'm guessing (?) they would schedule the Saints game on the Saturday (7th) to allow for a day in between the two big games.

I realize it's a bit of wishful thinking for BOTH the Tigers & Saints but would feel obligated to be in New Orleans if that happens. No better way to start the 2012 end of the world preparations.

Little early to be talking championships. The Tigers and Tiger fans need to be looking at WVU.

Yep. Let's enjoy and focus on the present. We have the talent to go to NO, but it's a long road. Let us all enjoy it slow!

Great advice and I definitely enjoyed the season. I just had that feeling when I posted this thread and had to dig it up to see exactly when it originated. As we (and the Saints) got closer and closer to it being reality, the feeling kept getting stronger.

It's extremely tough not being able to geaux to the game tonight but did find a way to make it to Nola this weekend and attend my first ever Saints playoff game. Seeing the Golden Band from Tigerland and their choreographed crunkness in the dome (along with the Breesy living legend) effectively scratched the itch. Looking forward to all the pregame discussion tonight and then the main event from the comfort of my couch with Crown followed by Abita followed by another :crystal:
