When I get the time I'm gonna post my list in order, I'm still looking into a few things (like I did with this incident with Franklin) before I comment. Aranda and Brady are certainly candidates I would talk to if I ran the search, but would not expect either to progress very far for different reasons.

 

I am wondering who on the Saints staff that might fit? The connection to Sean Payton and the Louisiana thing. Have no idea who the OC and DC is or if they are highly thought of. Beyond Fickell (Who has some linpbilities), Aranda, O'Brien and Brady I am left scratching my head. Hope Woodard knows what he is doing. What about Chip Kelly? The DC at A&M is also interesting I love that guy.

 

Half the defensive staff was aTm guys. DC Dennis Allen but most of the Aggys left to go to Detroit (Dan the man Campbell and Aaron Glenn).. the new LB coach is an Aggy too, Michael Moriarty I think? I'm not a deep into the Saints as I once was, though I follow them regularly. Just not enough hours in the day for recruiting, LSU, Saints, my Pelicans, and then life crap lol.

Ryan Nielsen is an O protégé and the best DL coach in football, period. College or pros. I wanted him as our DC because he would have been a candidate to take over for O if he failed. Dude was an INSANE recruiter and DL coach at NC State before Payton stole him to NOLA. Ryan wanted to come but Sean blocked it. Ryan dodged a bullet there tbh..

Objectively he's a better DL coach than O was in his prime and O might be in the conversation for a top 5 DL coach ever in college. Nielsen has done it in college AND the pros. O couldn't do it in the league. That's no shot at O, btw, Nielsen is the best I've ever seen is all.

OC Pete Carmichael isn't gonna leave Sean at this point it doesn't look like. Lombardi would have been 100x better hire than Peetz btw and I advocated for him.

Pete was with Brady for that presentation at LSU by the way when he impressed E.. on the car ride back to NOLA down the I10 Pete was asked by Joe how he thought it went. Pete was like, how did it go? I think you just got yourself a job. Joe was like what really? Eventually O hired him based entirely on E going to bat for Brady.
