i know that lsu holds a slim lead as of now, but does anyone know if hes been in touch with shep, or if him and davenport have been contacting each other?
Yes, he talks to & is developing friendships with both. He favors LSU, but his mom favors Texas. Does anybody know if his mom has been to LSU yet?
Not yet but she plans to make a trip with him soon and the academic center will be a big selling point.
This is one where there is a lot of hope, but I'm not counting on ANYTHING unless and until he actually verbals to us.
I am hoping very much like you all that we get this guy. Can you really imagine our defense down the road with he and Davenport? I mean really how scary will it be with those two making it dang near impossible to run up the middle against us. When you combine the fact we are having our best linebacker recruiting year since james and faulk it makes it even sweeter. I'm sure that McFarland realizes that playing with Davenport will almost gurantee he will be drafted. Davenport plays the nose while McFarland disrupts blocking schemes and penetrates the line with his quickness and speed. I really do believe he comes here in the end because of this very scenario. If I'm wrong I will be shocked. Now all we need is Mingo on the outside and we will be just about unstoppable. Mingo has freakish speed I have never seen in a linebacker (although he needs some weight BIG TIME)
I think getting mama down here will be a huuuuuuge turning point. She likes UT because it's closer, but if McFarland actually does have LSU leading she'll get to see what he sees. He's coming for the summer camp, isn't he?
I think this one is no more than 52/48 LSU. Maybe 50/50. If we can at least get mom impressed with the facilities over here at LSU we will land the big fella. Davenport trying to recruit him is a big plus. Don't underestimate that.

Because these are young kids confident in their ability, I don't know if Davenport is considering the possibility of only one spot being vacant at DT and having to compete for playing time against Mcfarland. Of course he just may be that unselfish and a team player also.

Very unselfish prospects.
