Agreed. He had a long way to go to reach his potential, but if he only reached 25% of it he would still be in the NFL. Sad someone with such talent may end up going down as the biggest bust in NFL history and it's all because he is just plain lazy.
There was a reason that Russell didn't come to LSU and start right away. He didn't have his head on straight. His physical ability is amazing, but you also have to give a chit. Once he got that 7-figure signing bonus, the guy just retired in his mind.
Hopefully Bama Boy can turn his life around....although I seriously doubt that he will at this point.
Nah, he is still trailing Ryan Leaf but slightly, this last little piece has definitely moved him closer.
He's an embarrassment to LSU. Every time his name is brought up, I cringe. The biggest black eye for LSU football since losing at home to UAB.
Agreed, but there have been statements made by coaching staff and faculty praising him for his work ethic at LSU, and people that I've talked to that are reasonably close to the program were of the same opinion when he was here. Jimbo Fisher was one that was very high on Russell. Of course, there's a big difference in attitude when you're working towards that 60+ million bucks, rather than laughing and sipping on purple 'drank' all the way to the bank. :thumb:
