He coulda had one... if he hadn't been so out of shape that he lost his lunch on the field trying to run the 2 minute offense in the Super Bowl.

Wait. So are we going to use this type logic to justify a coach's actions? Are Meyer, Spurrier, Saban, etc. now off limits to you if they foolishly adjust player personnel?

Besides, Shanahan also had two other things - Elway and Davis. Once they left, it was never the same.

all i'm saying is that this is getting blown up more than it should be. as far as meyer, spurrier, and saban, yeah i think they get the benefit of the doubt, until other evidence is shown. donavan mcnabb is 2-12-1 all time 4th quarter late down. they were running the hurry up offense, and donavan couldn't do it fast enough, so he got pulled. don't fault rex grossman, it wasn't his fault the offensive line opened up like a swinging gate, and let the guy get crushed.

I think Shannahan may know just a little bit more about his team than we do.

Regardless of what he does or where he may or may not end up... I wish the dood all the best of luck. He brought LSU a dominate Sugar Bowl win, can't ask for much more than that.

Rex Grossman will never be the answer.

    Ever.

And Redskin fans know this, which is why such a big deal is being made out of it. You bench a potential HOFer for a guy who is a scrub beyond scrubs. It's not like they were getting blown out. The season is more than likely over for the 'Skins because, as lazy as he's being made out to be now, McNabb is the Redskins' best chance at success, and he was embarrassed on Sunday. Good luck getting him to play wholeheartedly now. They traded for the guy, and he gets treated like this?

Of course, Shanahan won't have to worry too much longer because after this year, McNabb will be gone.

    Correct.

The way Shanahan is running things in DC is indefensible.

How so? It's his team, he runs the show. He isn't like Wade Philips letting everyone run over him. Sorry but this isn't the first time Donavan has been benched mid game because he stunk. So now Andy Reid and Mike Shannahan are idiots.
