What turned out to be a promising season is now turning into a possible collapse, as Shanahan benches McNabb for Grossman and, of all things, gives Russell a workout. Must suck to be a 'Skins fan right now.
Uh, yeah. So picture this, Shanahan is sitting there and wondering, "how the hell do I piss off my QB even more than I already have?" Oh yeah, I'll invite Jamarcus Russell in for a workout and embarrass the phuck out of Donovan. You can't disrespect him more than that.
has anyone stopped and thought that maybe Donavan is embarrassing Coach Shannahan for being a lazy fat ass? Until something else comes out proving otherwise, I think I will trust what Coach has to say about the situation. He is stand up guy and champion. Not to mention one of the best quarterback coaches ever.
I feel like the nfl is in bizarro world this week. Who the hell complains about someone being fat, lazy, and out of shape then considers signing the poster boy for all three? Crazy.
McNabb has been in the same exact shape for the entirety of his 11 year NFL career. Shanahan is a jerk and if you don't follow what he says, you are made a mockery of (see Haynesworthless). Oh yeah, McNabb can't run down the field in the 2 minute offense, he would pass out and we would lose. We'll put in Grossman instead, who can run down the field but unfortunately he won't have to because he can't complete a forward pass. Cutting off that nose to spite that face.
Purely motivational, IMO. It's not like they signed him, it was just a workout. I think JaMarcus was being used as leverage by Shanny to light a fire under Donvan McNabb. Basically, if the team is willing to play Rex Grossman or give JaMarcus Russell a try out, maybe it's time for the veteran borderline HOFer to stop resting on his laurels and actually play hard. McNabb was getting too comfortable, and Shanny wanted to wake him up. I think Russell will get a couple more workouts, but he probably won't sign with a team until the off-season, unless there is a major injury to a crappy team's starter or backup.
