Well, let's see, you implied I think Russell is a dumbass. Never said anything to that effect. And then stretched what I said about him avoiding sacks by his own physical strength as "constantly" doing so. That was never uttered.
Really? Ok, guess I have zero comprehension skills. :insane: It was some other thread about Shepard where you pointed out that Shepard obviously had a "much better head on his shoulders then JaMarcus". I'm not going to bother looking it up, so you can deny it if you want. You have made no secret of how little you think of JR, so you may as well own it, and stop trying to deflect this to something personal about me. I have done no such thing, and your attempts to make it so are transparent. It's not personal, I simply disagree with you and the analyst you listened to before a game JR played in.
This pretty much sums up Russell: People without blinders see that as a stupid throw into double coverage (of a really bad Ole Miss secondary; if that were Florida, it would've been picked off) where a spectacular WR outplays the defenders to the ball, and where the improbable outcome was fortunate. Or others will see it as Russell just being awesome. :dis: He won't be able to do that stuff in the NFL, and I think he'll be a bust. I hope not. I hope he proves me wrong, but I don't see it. He's the QB equivalent of Reggie Bush. Bush has the speed that worked in college, and Russell has the arm, but neither have the understanding, at least not yet. I also wish we still had Bowe, Davis, and Doucet. They could've made just about any QB look good.
You missed what I was trying to say. You made mention to me saying he was "constantly" avoiding sacks due to his physical strength. I did say he avoided many sacks that way, but in no way was it "constant".
Hardly takes people without blinders to see that as a bad play. Anyone can recognize that. You claiming that this play sums him up. Now that is what I call blinders. Using the word "constantly" can mean "every single time", or the "majority of time". Either implication is correct but one is used much more often than the other. Now which one do you really think I was using? If you were not implying that he avoided the majority of his sacks through brute force instead of pocket awareness(which he doesn't have right?), then how did he do it? Just dumb luck? And isn't it funny that the video above, that shows a poor decision to throw on his part, also shows JaMarcus doing the very thing you say he can't. I didn't see him shrug anyone off in that play. For some silly reason he seemed to avoid the rush. How in the world did he manage that? I didn't misunderstand you at all.
JaMarcus looked good today leading Raiders to a 27-16 win over my Texans. ........C/ATT YDS TD INT Russell 18/25.... 236 2 0 I think JR has benefited from the coaching change. The offensive game plan seems to acknowledge the players on the team and they play within their capability. Russell still has a terrific arm. Fargas and DMac looked good at RB, and they have a good tight end. Lane Kiffin may not be the cat's meow at Tenn.... http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=281221013 Russell Highlights
Maybe Kiffin does suck. Good to see Russell having a solid day all around. Hopefully they can get him a critical lineman or 2 and a go to receiver.
Raider fans comments on JaMarcus after the season ended on Sunday: http://www.raiderfans.net/forum/oak...age-board/145170-j-russ-last-three-games.html About right after finishing his first season as a starter, and the coaching humbug they had firing the head coach at mid season... I like JaMarcus!
Let's just hope the Raiders can make some good moves. With Al Davis running the show, it's all up in the air. Jamarcus, run!
