His choons were hot in the 50s; so that was even before me. He's interesting to me because he started on the Ozzie (very different from the Ozzie you know) and Harriet radio show - pre television. Moved to television when the radio show became a long running family sitcom; and leveraged it to become a hall of fame teenage rock and roll star. Not a lot of people hit that tri-fect-a.
Only backwards. Ozzie was a hit swing musician who became a TV star. yeah, but he was LOTS better. Yeah, you do. His Hollywood handlers tried to steer him into teenage ballads, but he preferred up-tempo rockabilly tunes.
I don't think so but he had a daughter named Tracy Nelson who was an actress in some sitcom I forget which one a few years back.
Skynyrd was on the way to Baton Rouge. The already had rooms booked at the Sheraton Hotel. A friend of mine was working at the Sheraton at the time. Some of Skynyrd's advance people and some wives and girlfriends were already checked into their rooms. After the plane crash my friend chauffered some of the wive's and GFs around in the Sheraton courtesy car.
Ricky Nelson's sons Gunnar and Matt were the popular '80s band Nelson. Their grandparents were Ozzie and Harriet. More Than Ever, Can't Live Without Your Love and Affection, and After The Rain were Nelson's 3 top singles.
Ozzie bit the head off of a bat and allegedly had to get rabies shots as a result. I don't know if Harriet was amused or not...
I had tickets for a simon and garfunkel show that got hurricaned out. It was the last possible opportunity to see them ever. Plan B was tits though. Meaningless drivel, but it's the Monday that never really started. Like a hangover flashback, or whatever. I'll add that Neighbors was probably one of the top 20 best movies ever made.
