I plan on watching the :helmet: /Alabama game tonight (getting ready for the game tomorrow) and I would like to know when his penalty occured so I can make sure I see it. I was intoxicated during the game, and I don't remember a lot about the game itself. Thanks. :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux:
It was in the 3rd quarter (I think) right after a MF interception. He caught Simeon Castile from behind, shoved him out of bounds, then had a PF called on him there. To me, it looked like he was being shoved by a number of Alabama players (it was on their sideline.) He pushed back and was penalized.
Flynn threw a terrible INT. Bama guy runs it back into LSU territory and Hester chases him down, then gets into a fight earning the penalty. I think it happened in the 1st half.
Agreed, it should have been offsetting penalties or a no-call. But it's kinda like when they flag a shoving match on the field. It's never the guy who shoves first who gets flagged, but the guy who shoves back.
Hester hit Castille out of bounds (barely) and it wasn't called. Then, he gets into a scuffle on the sidelines and the flag was thrown. It should have been called on both sides. But, hey, we won so it's water under the bridge.
Hester tackled the guy and rolled him over a couple of times. Bama players come over picking Hester up off their guy and shoving a little. I thought Hester head butted him. It looked like a head butt. The retaliation will always get a flag, but the head butt should've been flagged. I wasn't upset about it because I think as a leader of the team he showed some fire and it really didn't hurt us that bad. They got the ball on the 15yd line anyway. It's the stupid unprovoked PF's that get me made. Hester was definitely provoked.
Yeah. It was a BS penalty, IMO. Not because it was against Hester, but ANY time a player is on the opponents sideline, and gets surrounded by other players to deliberately block his attempt to cross the field and return to his own sideline, then I just don't understand HOW an official can throw a flag on a player that is just trying to get to where he's supposed to be. Hester looked like he was being surrounded (or at least 'Bama players blocking his way back to the field) and when you're trying to get back, and 2-3 of your opponents are standing in your way, trash talking and NOT moving/letting you through, of COURSE you're going to shove someone! Which is what Hester did...which is what we ALL would have done!
Yep, that is what I saw too, and I am sober!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux:
