I just watched a rerun of Superbowl XX (Chicago v. New England). The person that Hester reminds me most of is Matt Suhey. He was the blocking back for Sweetness. He did just about everything in that Superbowl. Check it out.

An even bigger attribute that Hester has that will play a vital role in his NFL longevity is his humility.

Bill Parcells used to talk about "his guys" that he kept with him wherever he coached. Guys like Dave Meggett, Keith Byars, Pepper Johnson, Steve DeOssie, Drew Bledsoe, Curtis Martin, etc. Guys who had no ego, knew their role and knew that however small or big their role was that it was important to the team's success. Guys like that hang around the NFL for a long time despite never being a guy that the press writes about or the talking heads rave over. Guys like that are known by every player in the NFL and respected by every coach.

Kevin Faulk is a great example of a former LSU player who continues to make a nice career for himself despite having never rushed for more than 700 yards with a career ypc avg of less than 4 yards. He contributes wherever he's asked to contribute and he does so happily. As a result, he will soon no longer be Kevin Faulk but Three-time World Champion Kevin Faulk with the most receptions by a runningback in Patriots history.
