Just returned from the Steelers/Chargers game. It was great watching Hester play. He seems to be very involved in the offense as a blocking back. He still brings the leather. However, the Chargers just couldn't overcome the Steeler's defense (damn they're good). He did see a considerable amount of playing time, so I guess the Chargers are happy with him.
He has steadily improved over the season but today he did not have the best game. His man got by twice blocking for Rivers and the facemask call earlier in the game was about as weak a call for legally being a facemask. He got a ton of snaps this season and that bodes well for a rookie on a team that has a bunch of talent in the backfield.
I was wondering the same thing. I only watched bits and pieces of the game, but I didn't see him once. I wonder if they consider him a bust?
Many people in San Diego consider Buster a "Bust". Not because of a lack of skill, but because he's been injured most of his pro career so far. He had 20 catches as a rookie and only 4 catches this year before he tore a groin muscle and was placed on Injured Reserve. He's shown flashes when he is healthy to be a solid slot receiver, but unfortunately his injury problems have kept him off the field most of the time. My guess is they'll give him one more year to prove himself, and if he can't stay healthy they'll get rid of him.
This was the 2nd game I've been able to see at Heinz Field. It's an unbelievable stadium. These guys are true fans. I saw alot of saints games at the superdome, and it just doesn't compare. FROZE my azz off, but there was beer and shots, so I survived. The steelers are awesome. I get to go to the AFC championship next sunday, can't wait. Honestly, I never remember seeing harder hitting in a football game before. I guess I'm getting used to living in the frozen frickin north. Tonite, I'm bedding down in a RedRoof in Erie. There's probobly 12 inches of snow on the ground and I'm not going out till tomorrow. I miss Baton Rouge.
