At this point I wouldn't say major, and I saw some improvement. You must have forgotten the Chief was oft times bendy, especially against dual threat qbs. 13 points, not too bad.
I'm worried Les will let Harris' feelings control his decision. His answer to will Etling start next week, something like... "Whoa there hoss, Etling made mistakes and Harris is still good."
I'm seeing a pattern. AJ comes in relief of Mett and takes LSU 90+ yards for the winning TD agains Arkansas.. Starts in Miles offense and is ineffective. Harris comes in against MSU and almost brings LSU an improbable comeback victory. Starts in Miles' offense and shows none of his earlier flash. Etling relieves Harris and commands the offense to three straight 2nd Q TDs. Starts the 2nd half and can't complete a pass as the offense goes dormant. Does anyone really believe our problem is at QB? Etling has earned the start against MSU but temper your expectations, he's still playing for Les Miles.
Exactly right. We've seen this story before. I hope I am wrong, but I am not going to be surprised if we are run, run, long pass (rinse. repeat.) for the rest of the season.
I would be shocked if Miles allowed Cam to call the game any way other than what we've seen in years past. The difference is that Etling actually has a chance at completing a pass. For it to make a difference in the outcome of games the OL will need to improve and a #2 WR will need to catch the ball. But at least Etling can move past his primary target and doesn't force it into triple coverage. He hasn't thrown a pass in a real game since 2014, yet he hit some open WRs and made some quick good decisions. He also showed some pocket presence which we haven't seen in 10 years. He definitely wasn't outstanding and made some mistakes, but he showed tons more potential than anyone we've seen take the field since Mett.
