But we have played the jj only games and we have played the jj/jl splitting time games. Wouldn't it be cool to see a jl only first half aginst aub to see what could be. Jj can play but I would think a jl 75% jj 25% would be about right. This team is better with jl as qb and jj in on short yardage running downs
You know...i noticed this as well. Not as much this week as last week but it still appeared that way.
Jl comes in confident and in control. This game was the first time jj looked confident since nc game. This confidence of lee rubs off on the rest of the offense. Jj's confidence in the fl game was a welcome change and the team responded in kind. I like our team with jl as qb with jj on short yardage except when the clock is an issue
Yeah, and he had a pretty good one in the 4th quarter to Rueben Randle down the right sideline for 29 yards. That drive ended up stalling after a couple of incompletions from him, though.
seems to me that the offense operates FASTER when JL is in. Time between plays is reduced dramatically and the offense gets into a rhythm. They seem to have more "pep" and more "pop".
Didn't JJ have two rushing TDs? I want Lee to start, but JJ is pretty important for us as well since we can confuse the defense with the change ups.
Without Lee JJ couldn't have driven the ball down the field to score that rushing TD. The problem with JJ is the defense doesn't get confused. They know he can't hit the side of a barn and so they start the box for the obvious option read play. JJ is fine is goal line because LSU's OLine has enough beef to push most lines back enough to make a hole and he has the better chance of making 2 yards between him and JLee. However if Lee can consistently make that TT fade pass, I'd say Lee would be better goal line QB too just because it will force defenders to double up to TT and open up the box a bit for a Ridley power run.
He absolutely did, but only after JL drove the team down the field and got them into position to score. But, hey, that's all right. He did score. I just think Jarrett deserves to play more of the game. The BR paper states the Tigers have had 819 yards of offense for the past two games when using the two-qb system. I'd be willing to bet most of those yards and drives leading to scores have been when JL was guiding the team. I think there are certain situations where JJ should be in the game, kind of like RP was used when Matt Flynn was our quarterback. I would also not mind seeing Shep fill that role at times.
