Character isn't precisely the right word. Lee is an athlete on scholarship at the state's flagship institution. When Hatch is injured, Jefferson can't throw, and Sheppard hasn't arrived yet, what's Lee's alternative when down 31-3? To refuse to play? To purposely throw INT's or incompletions? I'm sure Lee is a nice boy. But the simple fact that he is zero threat to run makes him nonviable as a QB in the 21st century SEC. And then there are the pick sixes . . . :helmet:
