    JJ fumbles the opening snap...
JJ was terribly off of the mark on a few other throws.

Shepard needs more work at WR. He should have caught one of the first two slants, but passes could have been metter. Also dropped at easy hitch pass.

Rueben should have caught the pass towards the sidelines in the first quarter.
Even with the threed drops, that still would have only put JJ at 11 of 20.

And the endzone INT was just plain awful.. NO EXCUSES...

JJ is still holding on to the ball.
Its like he hesitates to throw it to someone unless they are wide open.

J Lee, in know isnt afraid to try to stick in in their. But seriously, I'm done holding a grudge a gainst a Freshman QB who wasn't expected to play. And if he has gotten any better at reading a defense, and not staring down his WR, then he needs to play.

Hearing JJ cry about the fans was disappointing. Sorry JJ, this is the SEC, every snap is critical. We love you when you do well, and we back you when you struggle, but its time to man up. Either you can handle the position, or you can't....I never heard J LEE complain or make an excuse. And just that fact alone makes me want him to get another chance.

Alfred Blue was impressive, besides the botched option, which could have been a big play.

Specer ware looks like a grown man already.

Ford got 5 yards a pop (when they knew we were running).

The option wasn't the problem this week, we really dialed back on the number of option calls. I cant wait until the # of option plays is zero.

I never agree with an option pitch on 3rd and 1.

    Our defense is champioship ready.

Ryan Baker will be a first round pick at LB..

Drake Nevis will be a 1st team All american at this rate.

I wouldn't want to try and block Montgomery down after down. That dude plays angry..

Despite the big plays we gave up against UNC, i'm absolutely in love with what we have in the secondary. Matheiu, Peterson, Loston, Reed.

We ran the ball well from the pro formation (I and three wide sets). Let's do it more often.

Richard Murphy threw a MAN block on Shepards TD run.

    Ridley has some wheels.

    P.S.

You know you've got in going on when you can complain about being 2-0, while coming off of a 27-3 victory.

    Geaux Time.

Nothing personal, but you obviously haven't bothered to read any of the other 400 threads that address all of these.

    Good take though.

As for Lee, it's not that we're unwilling to forgive his freshman mistakes, it's that he looked down right awful last season too, in the little time that he did have.

Not just bad, downright awful. Like worse than he was as a freshman.

Kind of like Jefferson looked last Saturday? With more starts than Lee?

    Vandy >>>>> La Tech

I guess we'll have to wait and see, but don't be surprised when Jarrett Lee is who we thought he was.

    My thought' exactly.

I'm telling you, after rewatching that game, I felt like our offense was really being held back by the QB.

I for one, am the #1 hater of the option.
And I still blame and hold the coaches responsible for forcing JJ into the role of an option QB. Which he cxlearly is not.
Point is, that play went extinct for a reason. any coach who is willing (and his the talent) to consisantly blitz an option team(ala Nick Saban), is going to stop you. It works for power house high school teams, and old powerhouse collegiate programs. But when im just as strong, and just as fast as you are, running the option is pointless, and most times negative.

But after watching the Vandy Game, and just thinking back about JJ over time, i'm almost tempted at this point to call him inacurate. He's missed on a number of deep, short and medium throws, dating back to last year.

I called for JLEE's head as well, when he deserved it.

Now, JJ, it about time that you get put on notice. :tigereye:

Play better, or ride that bench...

I don't disagree with you about Lee, but in all fairness, i believe Lee had a much shorter leash than Jefferson does.

Records: In games that Jarrett Lee either started or saw significant playing time in (and i am counting Ole Miss 08, and Alabama 09) Jarrett Lee's record is 8-5. Jordan Jefferson's record in games that he either started or saw significant playing time in (and i am counting Ole Miss 08 and Alabama 09) is 11-6. So no one can tell me that Jordan Jefferson is miles ahead (no pun intended) of Lee, (not that you were).

I wouldn't be surprised if Lee came in and stunk the joint up, but he deserves a shot, because with more playing time, Jefferson hasn't improved hardly any, and with Jarrett Lee, who knows, all we can go off of, is the LA Tech game, which to me was a lose lose situation. Game after Alabama, we got jobbed, kid couldn't move the ball against the best defense in the nation, knows the crowd hates him, fans are booing him. I mean come on, that game to me is a complete wash.

Sometime this season, you will see Shepard at option QB in the red zone. You may like it.

My cousin and I have been wondering this for quite some time...

If the coaching staff is so hell bent on running the option....

Did it ever occur to them that we have #10, who by all meanings of the word, is an option "specialist."
Shepard ran the shotgun option throughout his prep career.
No need to point out how dangerous of a runner Shepard is...

I just find it sad that (I won't call us average), but that the average fan has more commonm since than the entire coaching staff.

Im all for the option if Russell Shepard is the orchestrator.

I just blows my mind that the entire staff hasn't realized, or hasn't noticed, that Jordan Jefferson is not an option QB. Just because he has some straight line speed, doesn't mean we should use him to run the option. :cuss:

I mean, I really am dieing to know how many total yards we've gained off of the option since 2009. And what is our yards per attempt when we do call the option.
