it doesn't matter who starts and who doesn't. It really doesn't. 1. Rip isn't the guy coming off the bench. 2. Even if he were, he'd still get his 35-40 mins. He'd just be playing with a different lineup combo.
Detroit with Iverson = 9-9 Denver with Billups = 16-4 Detroit in fact has won their last 2 games, so they were even worse at 7-9 just a few days ago. I do think things will turn around eventually. Obviously it only matters if they can be clicking at the end of the season. Denver appears to be a team to be reckoned with in the West, holding down the #2 seed at this point in the season.
As I said in some previous post, they have fixed their problems, by inserting Stuckey at the starting point guard. He is a beast, not to many pg can guard stuckey one on one. He is 6'5 and may be just as fast as D. Rose. That lineup is working. With Iverson, he just needs to be himself, he is trying to hard to be passive. We will be fine.
I agree. The entire problem with a player as great as Iverson is, and he is one of my favorites of all time, is the chemistry issue. It didn't work at Denver at all. They were a decent team, but that was the end of the line. The could get no better, even if he would average 30 ppg, they would lost at the same rate.
Next 5 games will tell us a lot about good Denver really is. Tue, Dec 16 at Houston 8:30 pm Fri, Dec 19 Cleveland 10:30 pm Sat, Dec 20 at Phoenix 9:00 pm Mon, Dec 22 Portland 9:00 pm Tue, Dec 23 at Portland 10:00 pm
You know what I am more surprised about, that Denver has done so well without Camby in the middle, they really dont have any legitimate bigs, just alot of hustle guys who go 100 mph.
You just explained why they will not go anywhere come late spring/early summer. Yao dominated them tonight in a Rox win.
