What about the speculation that this trade is all just a setup to get Lebron

It certainly gives them plenty of cap room.

Then again they can join the Knicks, Nets, and about 10 other teams trying to do the same thing.

the thing about that free agent class is it isn't just LeBron.

Sure, he is the No. 1 guy.

But if you swing and miss on LeBron, but sign Wade or Bosh, it's not a total loss.

Thats true, but with a team like Detroit, you dont want a Bosh or I hate to say it a Wade, but Id take him. What I mean is that Lebron changes the landscape instantly of a team right on the cusp of returning to championship form. Thats the difference, Wade could do it but the injuries are scary with him sometimes.

Clair, I know you watch enough basketball, so I won't question that.

AI had 2.24 steals per 48 minutes of play last season. Billups 1.92. Not a big difference there.

But Iverson is considered one of the 5 worst defensive players in the league at his position. Whomever he guards can put up points at will.

    By who?

Certainly not the writers or whoever votes for awards.

2X All Big East defensive player in college

And never made All NBA Defensive team in the NBA that I know of, but he received votes damn near every year.

Neither is Bruce Bowen, but Billups is not the defensive ace you're thinking.

    It's quite the contrary.

Don't believe me? Believe Mastermind. His uncle made the move. lol

Great news, Iverson scored 24 in his debut

    Oh, but they lost

PS - Devon Harris scored a career high 38 points! Geez. Welcome to the world of Iverson.

I am lost on the McDyess thing. So the agreement was for Denver to release him as part of the deal?

And how does Detroit get him back off waivers if other teams will surely be way ahead of Detroit on the waiver list to try and get McDyess?

I doubt it was part of the agreement.

But McDyess won't play for them. They have a lot of history.

    So he was bought out.

And he will clear waivers. That's how Detroit will get him back.

    He is a free agent.

If any of this is wrong, Mastermind, correct me.
