Ok guys. I was FLAMING MAD Monday night, like everyone else.

And NO, I'm not over it yet, but I'm ready to discuss some things.

First off, it's not as bad as it seems.

Yes, we looked like an absolute train wreck offensively, but it's not all on the coaches.

The coaches didn't fumble 2 snaps. The coaches didn't false start and the coaches didn't miss blocking assigments.

Yes, JJ was absolutely atrocious, but the Oline didn't help him much.

So many times we were in 2nd or 3rd down and a mile because of our own mistakes.

The team may well have been waiting on the "big play" from the Defense, or the spark from Special Teams. We got neither.

Our D never really stopped Bama, but we held them to 3. And then another 3. And then 3 again.

Les should have pulled JJ after the awful turnover in the 3rd Qtr. Bama got the ball and got another 3.

We were down 15-0 and I was begging for Lee.

There was still enough time to rally. As we all know, JJ stayed in the game and his nonsense continued....

But we didn't have "it" Monday night.

Don't know where it went. Don't know what happened.

    I will say this:

In 5 years of coaching boys baseball, I have had this very thing happen to me twice.

My team didn't show up. We couldn't hit. Couldn't field. Couldn't throw. Had no idea what we were doing and got pounded by teams that had no business being within 6 or 7 runs of us.

It's hard to explain. Sometimes you just don't have "it".

In my opinion, this is 1 of the things that doomed us Monday.

It's hard to criticize our coach's offensive gameplan for the 1st half because the players made so many mistakes that the game plan never had a chance.

Plus, Bama kept the ball the whole time. The D couldn't force the turnover and couldn't get off the field.

But I'm glad JJ's eligibility is up. I don't like talking bad about our players or coaches, but....

I've never liked him as our QB. I don't feel like he's ever improved. He's played 5 or 6 good games in his career at LSU and the rest have been filled with misques, poor-decisions, holding the ball, pouting and poor offensive production.

I have to believe that JJ looks good in practice. That's the only thing I can come up with. The only reason why he's been so awful for the last 3 years and still be the started.

    Anyways,.....

Coach should have pulled him right after the turnover. That's what I would have done. JJ wasn't helping. It was time for someone else to have a chance while we still had a chance.

I fault coach for that, BIG-TIME!!!

This is my first post since the game and I'm hurt, deeper than I could imagine.
Thanks P&g, you've said what I wanted to say, without me having to say it.

Seen it happen in so many sports.
Hopefully if I can get to one game next year, I can bring some luck.

2012 will be a big year!!

    Now for the reality-

I don't think our team was up for the rematch. Mentally, we were already Champs with nothing to prove, while Bama entered the Dome on a mission.

Miles led us to an undefeated regular season. Big Props for that!

Miles recruited these players, hired the asst coaches, and pushed all the right buttons against some serious opponents. More Props!

During the preseason, I was looking at our schedule going, "WOW! Can we win 10 of these games?" I felt like there was 3-5 teams that could beat us. Miles won 13!!!!

So as hurt as we all are, it's not nearly as bad as it seems.

We had an awesome season, but the ending realy, really hurts.....

    yep

that is the moment in time I fell off the Love Boat with Les !!!

Big 10 stupid showed up and didn't give him or his team the chance to win.

It was time for the 2 minute drill with 4 wide outs all go go go! 2 second release from Lee and just go.

dang Les you can be hard headed !!!

13-1 SEC champs and move on - is all anyone can do :dis::dis::dis::dis:

I think you get the perfect crime and how we got murdered in 4 quarters here

    1) the team is mentally unprepared, they are distracted, they have hubris, they think they are already champs
    2) this shows immediately on the field, Bama is hard and ready to contend, we fall flat. Lots of mental mistakes and a defense that does not break, but bends enough to be dangerous.
    3) Special teams play decent, but we gave up more yards on punt returns on this game than in all previous games combined!
    4) Mental errors in offense kill us slowly. No player there played well. JJ was horrible, but I cannot save anyone else, if not, maybe Hilliard.
    5) The game plan is vanilla. Saban knows it and go for the throat.
    6) Miracolously we are still in the game in the second half, this is the moment we think LSU will fix issues, and come out swinging, but we are simply not in the game.
    7) the second half is even more painful, players know they have lost, and just hope to get back in the locker room.

This was a total chocke. It happens, happened to great athletes and great teams. We had bad moments in the past, but in general our talent was so overwhelmingly superior we manage to win despite them, not with Bama playing 100%. They have the same talent.
