see, this makes sense to me, and it almost seems like this is JJ's problem. Its definitely why he took so many sacks, he was too worried about making a mistake. While i love the fact that he is not turning the ball over alot, he does need to either throw the ball to a spot where only his guy can make the catch, or throw it away. Those sacks were on him, not the offensive line.
I think about 4 of them were clearly on him. There was one when they were in there really fast and he had no chance and another where he tried to run pretty quickly but the guy made like a shoestring tackle and got him from behind while he was running. He needs to start moving up in the pocket though and make quicker decisions. No doubt.
The guy has no pocket presence in big games, holding the ball more than 4 seconds in the pocket. OK, I'll wait after the FLA game, then evaluate.
Some thoughts on this thread! Stupid! I'll quote Sabanfan and say the favorite player on the team is the backup QB:dis: LSU is 5-0, undefeated which means some people are NEVER happy! I'll take a sack or sacks over a turnover or pick six anyday. We are 5-0, PLEASE quit comparing this team to last years team. Let's not forget that JJ threw a few passes that hit our players between the numbers not Georgia's players. Our Wr's and tight end DIDN'T make the play! The O'line certainly isn't playing like when Flynn or JR was here. JJ doesn't have that advantage right now, he'd look quite a bit better and comfortable when that improves. JL would be a sitting duck with this O-Line! Can we move on now?
You're wrong, Lee has a quicker release while JJ doesn't. I also believe that JL has learned his lesson, and he deserves to have one or two series in big SEC games. Don't you agree that JJ looked lost out there in 2nd half in the UGA game? If you don't, you must have watched a different game.
You may but I don't, I disagree. I don't agree with your first point so that makes this one pointless. I will say that JJ is less lost than JL was last year when he was giving away Christmas Cheer.
this is actually a good post given the blocking ability or lack there of we seem to sport. JJ IS a passer a blind man can see that. NO passer is at his best when pressured EVERY other play. He has running ability. BUT a run oriented QB like Tebow likes contact. Did you see JJ AVOID contact and slip out of bounds? the Tebow type ( head down trying to run like a power back ) wont make it in the NFL ( probably unless he changes his style ) where as the JJ type, pass first run second, avoid hits ... will make it in the NFL. Shepard would be awesome ( as we've seem glimpses of ) running with Holiday in there ( or IMHO anyway ) the option, at least until it became obvious what was going to happen.
You cant be serious..... this is so wrong I cant even think of what to reply.... JL would have been pressured in the 2nd half also. JJ did a good job of retaining the ball and NOT coughing it up or throwing an INT. the real answer here is we need to be able to PICK up the blitzes, handle the rush when there is no blitz OR screen the hell out of them when they do that. JJ is doing fine.
