One of the worst things you can do is menace and heap abuse on the visiting fans. Y'all know the difference (I hope) between taunting, Tiger-Baiting and generally giving the rival fans a hard time - and abuse. If you surround, scream at, throw debris or generally verbally abuse people - you are a pussy. It is the pinnacle of pussy herd mentality, doing so only with the knowledge that you outnumber them.

Actually, I didn't mean for it to be taken that way. I just can't stand that cheer; it is the definition of lack-of-class to do it in an opponent's house after you've just watched your team get its ass kicked for 59 minutes.

Understood, sorry if I took it out of context. I guess my point was... I hate when people think just because someone calls you an ***hole, you should fire back with the same. This is a big deal to me. Game or just in general, theres a fine line people tend to cross sometimes. It's a big deal because that is part of the problem in the world today. Anyway, wasn't picking on you mctiger! And thanks for not getting angry and calling me a f***ing ***hole! LMAO!

I understand all the different angles and reasoning behind why these things happen. Big game, hated rival, too much to drink, college students etc etc. It doesn't mean that we have to accept these reasons or encourage the behavior. We can be fans without being hateful. I don't care if you boo the other team, (personally I think it would be a much more intimidating thing if 93,000 fans would all chant "Tiger Bait" in unison when the opposition took the field) but there is little reason to lash out maliciously.

I'd love to see us take it to the next level, raise our level of class and really set ourselves apart from the rest of the college football world.
I've always wished that some of the great sporstmanship and genuine appreciation that is frequently part of the baseball experience would spill over into the football stadium. It's awe inspiring to watch the home crowd stand up and cheer the competitor after a hard fought win or get them to do a victory lap around the stadium. It's a genuine appreciation of the young men who work so hard and put everything out there on the field. It's a true appreciation of battle and competition. It's spirited, it's passionate and it's respectful. I realize the difference between the football and baseball stadiums / crowds. But it would be nice.

Well stated Tiger! The part I like the best is your Tiger Bait comment. I remember that was the basic cheer used against other teams. It is more intimidating than a boo. Everyone any place boos. What's so special about that? Consider what happens when the other team comes out and runs by Mike as the stands erupt with the chant TIGER BAIT>>>TIGER BAIT>>>>TIGER BAIT
