the close losses last year were part of the reason we got into the NC. In a small way. Coaches took that into account if you ask me.

although a loss is a loss. A close loss in OT's last year prompted the team to be able to say to the media ( not literally but figuratively ) that this LSU team had never been defeated in regulation. I know, big deal but it was kind of a head turner for the media I'm sure it did effect some votes.

but yeah a loss is a loss. this was a beatin though......

still love my tigers, been a fan thru tougher times than this.:tigereye:

Dead on! Miles kind of got ridiculed by saying it, but it definitely had an impact. I even heard a talking head on one of the college football shows today say it's the first time LSU had been defeated in regulation in the past 23 games.

    Post of the year....

It is amazing to think that a 30 point loss was a couple of breaks away from being a close game. The entire landscape of the game changed on Harvin's first TD (yes I know that is an obvious statement).

Tirk-----you're absolutely right. We are not the team we were last year. DAMNIT!!!! But..................we did win the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP last year. That's a hard thing to duplicate. C'mon guys, we aren't what we used to be. However, we'll get better.
Whether you'd like to admit it or not,,,,,,we got some QB issues. We DO NOT have an experienced Quarterback. Damn. I'm a little shocked this hasn't been a bigger issue. Our guys will get better. Hell, we'll still beat the hell outta most teams anyway. But,,,,,,,,,,,,we'll NOT win a NC (much less the SEC) without an experienced QB. We didn't know it, but Matt Flynn was an experienced player last year in our scheme. We would not have won it with our present QB's. Just a little time........that's what we need.
No Matter how hard and often you debate this issue, we ARE NOT what we were last year. It's gonna be REALLY hard when Saban kicks our ass too. I'm not even prepared for that although I KNOW it's gonna happen. BUT,,,,,,,,,I do think we'll kill Satan, Uh,,,,,Saban the year after next.
We can't do it every year, that sucks, but it's true. We're still a pretty damn fine football team.

I totally disagree with you. I knew the chances of LSU losing was significant. But I would have felt much better about the Tigers had it been a competitive game. I remember when we played Notre Dame and lost by 3 points. LSU went up in the polls after that loss and Notre Dame dropped. It wasn't the loss; it was the size of the loss that was so disturbing.
