It was time for miles to go- comparatively however miles is miles ahead of Oeaux in almost every facet as a HC if you check their resumes. You don't cut bait with a nc coach for a historic losing one. You just don't. Unless you're Joe alleva.

You fire a man when he can't do it anymore. Orgeron was THE best available man for the job at the time whether any of you care to admit it or not.

actually, I didn't even bring up the Bama game until someone asked.
I'm looking at the entire picture and gave a list of red flags from last year.
somewhere on this forum is also a list of red flags from the first month or so of this season.

    the green flags:
ran the ball down throats of shitty defenses last year
    1 good win this year.

so far, the red flags out number the green.

and that's ONLY counting his time at LSU.
throw in his past and they outnumber the green by a near biblical amount.

i believe he meant that Chavis was the Tennessee DC that shut down our offense that season.

    not even close.

If you remove his tenure at Ole Miss, his resume is extremely thin. less than 2 season as the head guy (and only as interim, never running an entire program), zero experience at anything else above position coach.

if you include his stint at Ole Miss, his resume is bad.

Belichick's stint in Cleveland wasn't spectacular by any means, but it was far from disastrous.
He's the last guy to ever win a playoff game for them.

    not what he is saying.
he is saying you don't hire Ed Orgeron to replace a National Championship winning coach with the highest win % in school history.

he may ultimately be the right guy for the job.
but there is no way he was so clearly the right guy that you don't even interview anyone else.

SO you throw out his 13-4 records as head man at USC and LSU in favor of 10 years ago where he apparently changed, and also isn't in charge of a doormat program. He set offensive records in almost every game after taking over for Miles, had a chance to WIN BOTH games he lost INCLUDING BAMA. Who else was qualified in the country last year and available?

do you actually read anything, or just skim through?

remove Ole Miss completely from the picture. act like it never even happened.

Ed Orgeron's resume then consists entirely of 16 games as interim (0-4 against biggest rivals on schedule: Notre Dame, UCLA, Bama, Florida)
0 days running every single aspect of a program.
0 games at anything else higher than position coach.

that is an extremely thin resume.
especially for a top 5-10 job in the entire country.

coaches that were "available" who had better resumes as of November 2016:
    Jimbo
    Herman
    Fedora
    Fleck
    MacIntyre
    Fuente
    Taggert
    Mendenhall
    Mullen
    Jeff Brohm
    Whittingham
    etc.

You’re missing the point, interim guy & head coach are apples & oranges. Many of us agree he is a great fill in guy, but his resume with full control is so bad that NO school was even ringing his phone. He may end up being the guy but he can’t tie Les’ shoes with what he has done so far. And in that comparison, only stupid Joe “mail it in” Alleva would think otherwise.

No credit for running the program given although he is recruiting, setting practices, gameplanning, firing and promoting coordinators. NICE.

Yeah you are fair in evaluations.

Again your hatred for Ed shines through your eval.

Jimbo NO WAY PROBATION RISK ANYWHERE LOOK AT FSU
Herman SMALL SCHOOL NO WHERE ON BIG STAGE
    Fedora UNPROVEN AT BIG PROGRAM
    Fleck UNPROVEN AT BIG PROGRAM
    MacIntyre
    Fuente
    Taggert
    Mendenhall
    Mullen
    Jeff Brohm
    Whittingham NO FUCKING WAY
    etc.[/QUOTE]
Don't know enough about others, but the fact you had the guys on the list that I scratched off just proves your hate for Ed.

No you miss what it takes to even do what Ed did last year. Hate on the man all you want. 13-4 right now and fixing to beat bama's ass. Ride or don't. I don't give a damn.
